BOOKS FOR JEE PREP

We have created a list of best books for each subject required for JEE preparation.

We have considered factors like:

· Difficulty level similar to actual exam

· Good quality problems

· Adequate number of problems

· Simple language and good content

You can pick any of the books given below and your preparation will be sorted.

Along with these books, also do PYQ for JEE MAIN & ADVANCED for past 10 years

So here are our recommendations:

PHYSICS

Do any 1 of the following books (I repeat – Do not do all books, do only 1)

1. HC Verma

Part 1

Part 2

Pros: Your concepts will become very clear

Cons: Has not been updated according to latest JEE formats

Pros: According to latest exam pattern

Cons: Good for exams but concepts best in HC Verma

3. DC Pandey

Cons: Good for exams but concepts best in HC Verma

MATHS

1. MCQs by A Dasgupta

Note: Don’t do Subjective Version of A. Dasgupta

Pros: Good variety of quality problems

Cons: Less number of problems, this is for JEE MAIN only

2. JEE MAIN MATHEMATICS by McGraw HILLS

Pros: Good for JEE Main

Cons: Not for advanced

3. CENGAGE Maths

Pros: Best for JEE Advanced

Cons: You will not have time to do these books along with coaching + PYQs

CHEMISTRY

First and foremost, do NCERTs for all – Organic, Inorganic or Physical

Without completing NCERT, you cannot have good chemistry preparation. Chemistry is a rank deciding subject in JEE, so focus on NCERTs must be there.

PHYSICAL:

1. Narendra Awasthi

This book is best for Physical chemistry.

ORGANIC

1. MS Chauhan

Pros: Good quality of problems

Cons: Less number of problems

If you want to practice at JEE MAIN level, then this version is good

2. Himanshu Pandey

Pros: Lots of questions

Cons: Not that hard

Choose only one from MS Chauhan or Himanshu Pandey

INORGANIC

1. VK Jaiswal

2. JD LEE

Pros: Best for inorganic theory

Cons: Less questions

3. KK Wadhwa

Do JD LEE + anyone from VK Jaiswal or KK Wadhwa for questions.

If you go to a coaching, then follow this sequence:

1. Class notes

2. Read and practice your coaching module

3. PYQ

4. If chapter is still weak, follow one of the above books

Don’t run after multiple sources.

Keep in mind PYQs are extremely important.
